This is a modern twist on the theory around Treasure Baskets.  Our Texture troves will be about materials of everyday objects, unusual and dynamic objects, themed and collected objects and many others too.

Our Treasure Trugs will be project based. Collections to support a concept or story, a song or an extension of an object.

Each idea is selected to stimulate a child’s tactile, visual and auditory senses, helping them develop fine motor skills, hand eye co-ordination and problem solving.

During the training we will explore a wide range of texture troves and treasure trugs to promote

  • Sensory exploration
  • Independent experimentation
  • Awareness of shapes, sizes, textures
  • Functionality of objects
  • Vocabulary building and use of descriptive language

Grasping and manipulation of objects
