Development Through Play
April 17th at 7pm
Thinking is when our children use their minds, when they are stimulated mentally, in a process of considering, reasoning, or reflecting on something. It involves activity like problem solving, decision making and planning their play.
Meta Skills
Meta-skills are higher-level abilities that allow our children to think about, regulate, and apply other skills effectively.
During this course we will explore:
Creative Thinking – The ability to create new ideas, solutions, or approaches to problems.
Critical Thinking – The ability to evaluate arguments and evidence to form sound judgments.
Analytical Thinking – The ability to examine the parts of an argument and look closely at the thought process.
Problem Solving – The ability to solve complex problems in creative ways.
Imaginative Storytelling – The ability to think about cause and effect, sequencing, and problem-solving within a narrative context.
Exploration Play – The ability to learn about new materials by smelling, touching, or tasting them.
